REGAL VAULT Privacy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

RegalVault is a study application for people who work with antiques. This document sets out, in plain terms, what the application does and does not do with information while you use it. It is short because the application does very little that concerns privacy.

01The short version

Everything you actually do inside RegalVault — every lesson, answer, note and catalogued piece — runs and stays on your device. There are no user accounts and no sign-in step, and your study record is never uploaded.

The one exception is measurement. The application includes a third-party attribution SDK, described in section 4, which sends a limited technical record about the installation itself. It never sends your study record.

02Information you are never asked for

The application does not request your name for verification, your email address, your phone number, your date of birth, or your location. The curator name you may set in the Profile tab is a label for your own dashboard; it is written to your device and read back by the application, and it never leaves the device. No behavioural profile of you as a person is assembled.

The advertising identifier (IDFA) is a separate matter and is covered in section 4: it is read only if you grant permission when the system asks, and never otherwise.

03Where your study record lives

Your progress record — completed lessons, museum stamps, catalogued pieces, examination scores, streak history, bookmarked articles, personal notes, and your appearance and typewriter preferences — is written to a single file inside the application's private container on your device. That container is governed by the operating system and is not readable by other applications. It is not copied to iCloud by the application, and it is not synchronised between devices.

04Analytics and attribution

RegalVault includes AppsFlyer, a mobile measurement and attribution SDK. Its purpose is to tell us how many people installed the application and which campaign or link brought them, and to give us aggregate figures on how the application is used. It is not used to identify you personally, and it never receives your lessons, answers, notes or catalogue.

What AppsFlyer receives
  • An AppsFlyer device identifier generated for this installation.
  • Device and environment data — device model, operating system version, language and approximate region derived from the connection.
  • Install and attribution data — when the application was installed or opened, and the referring campaign or link.
  • The advertising identifier (IDFA), but only if you allow tracking when the system prompt appears.
Your tracking choice

On first launch, iOS asks whether you allow the application to track you across other companies' apps and websites. RegalVault holds the measurement session until you answer. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not read and is not sent. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.

AppsFlyer processes this data as our service provider and under its own privacy terms. No other measurement service, crash reporter, advertising network or social login is embedded in the application.

The entire lesson corpus, archive and examination bank ships inside the application, so every study feature continues to work with the device in airplane mode.

05Removing your data

Because the study record exists only on your device, you control its removal directly. Clearing your progress from the Profile tab discards the record and returns the application to its first-run state. Deleting the application removes the record along with it. There is no account to close.

For the measurement data described in section 4, write to the address below and we will ask AppsFlyer to delete the records associated with your installation.

06Children

RegalVault is written for an adult audience of collectors, dealers, restorers and students of the decorative arts. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly gather information from them.

07Revisions to this policy

If the application changes in a way that affects the substance above, this document will be revised and the "Last updated" year at the top will be moved forward. Material changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
